The Hum, a refreshed concept that blends electric energy, nostalgic vibes, and bold new flavors—all within the iconic former Union, Light, Heat, & Power Co. building in the heart of Covington.

Rooted in the building’s legacy as a former electric utility hub, The Hum takes its name from the subtle, ever-present buzz of energy—both literal and metaphorical—that fills the space. From the refreshed vintage design to a menu that hums with creativity, the restaurant pays homage to the past while charging forward into something entirely new.

Guests can expect a modern menu that nods to classic comforts with a twist, along with a bar program that plays with retro influences and electric flavor combinations. Think familiar tunes with a synth line—warm, a little edgy, and endlessly inviting.

As part of the transformation, the former Eishaus ice cream walk-up window has been reimagined as The Hum to-go, a convenient to-go window offering a curated selection of quick bites, cold drinks, and a new twist on Eishaus favorite—the pocket. Perfect for locals on the move or anyone strolling through Covington, The Hum window keeps the spirit of street-side service alive with a modern, energized twist. The transition from Frosthaus marks more than a name change. It’s a reimagining—one that invites the community to plug in, power up, and feel the hum.
